SDRC Rules & Regulations

  • New members must be nominated and seconded by current SDRC members in good standing who shall then be responsible for ensuring that the new member complies with SDRC regulations.  

  • All applications for membership shall be submitted to the SDRC Executive committee for consideration and approval by two thirds majority 

  • SDRC Committee reserves the right to approve or disapprove any membership 

  • I acknowledge all horse riding activities will be at my sole risk, and, accordingly indemnify the Stellenbosch District Riding Club and members of the Committee, the Stellenbosch Municipality, SAEF, SASJ, DSA, EVSA, SHSA, SAEQ, CDSA, sponsors or any of their officials in respect of any claim for loss, damage or accident, illness or disease which may occur on the Club’s premises for any reason whatsoever arising. 

 

Please note the following Rules and Conditions are to apply: 

  1. Recognised safety hats must be worn by riders at all times while mounted

  2. Members must apply for permission to ride on the grounds at times other than when shows are held.
    Such permission must be obtained from the Secretary and the ground levy fee of R250 per horse/rider combination will be applicable for SDRC Members and R350 per horse rider combination for non SDRC members. 

  3. Members riding at any show not run by SDRC will be liable for ground levy.

  4. At close of date of entries, no facilities may be used until the event.

  5. The Water Complex and Bank Complex are out of bounds

  6. Anyone found riding on the premises without permission will be banned from the Club for such a time
    as the Committee sees fit.

  7. Please treat other riders and officials courteously and in a manner which you would like to be treated

  8. If you are riding on the grounds during a show but are not competing please keep well clear of
    competitors and respect their preparations and warm-up routines.

  9. No cruelty of animals is allowed on the premises

  10. OPEN DAYS are normally on Mondays and Tuesdays (Booking is essential and Indemnity Forms must be completed and signed. 

  11. Certain Cross Country tracks are open for practice.  Booking is essential and Indemnity Forms are available

  12. The GRASS ARENA and SANESA ARENA are out of bounds

 

NB. The arenas are closed to all competitors from the closing date of entries until after the relevant competition. This SAEF rule carries the penalty of elimination.
